On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 9 a.m., Sheriff Joe Baron and Norfolk Sheriff’s Office personnel will gather at the loading dock outside the Norfolk City Jail and load vehicles in preparation to deliver Thanksgiving dinner to those who may need a helping hand this holiday season.

Personnel will deliver 100 turkeys, 50 turkey breasts, and a large variety of sides to a pre-determined list of citizens, churches, and non-profit agencies throughout the City of Norfolk.

It is the mission of the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office to make a positive difference in the lives of others as far as we can reach and one of the ways we can do that is through service to our community. For more than 10 years, the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office has been donating and delivering turkeys during the holiday season.

The sponsors for this event include the Sheriff Joe Baron Foundation, Summit Foods, Keefe, Little Lily Ministries, and Thomas Mayhew.

For media wishing to get video of staff loading up and a possible interview about the deliveries, please contact Jamie Bastas at 757-589-5692 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
