Norfolk Sheriff’s Office Inmate Lookup Tool Is Back!

The Norfolk Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the return of our Inmate Lookup Tool. Those looking for information about individuals currently incarcerated in the Norfolk City Jail can once again use the Inmate Lookup Tool to access information such as Inmate ID Numbers, booking date, current charges, and a booking photo. The Inmate Lookup Tool is located on the homepage of the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office website, www.norfolk-sheriff.com, under the Inmate Lookup Tool button or can also be accessed by visiting https://811marketplace.com/inmate-search/.

The Inmate Lookup Tool was removed from the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office website in November 2024 after we experienced a cybersecurity event and a subsequent system outage. Once our systems were restored, the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office Information Technology Division began working with a subcontractor to develop a new version of the Inmate Lookup Tool with increased security features.

We appreciate all the work our Information Technology Division did to get this resolved and we are grateful for the public’s patience and understanding while they worked to develop and test the new Inmate Lookup Tool before releasing it publicly.
