This morning, following a lengthy investigation, Norfolk Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 30-year-old Takeyah Gosha. Ms. Gosha is an employee of a contractor service who works inside the Norfolk City Jail delivering canteen to inmates.

During the investigation deputies from the NSO’s Security Threat Unit (STU) found that Ms. Gosha was bringing controlled substances into the Norfolk City Jail and delivering it to inmates during her rounds. Ms. Gosha was taken into custody without incident this morning during her shift and has been charged with Delivering Drugs to a Prisoner Committed to the Jail, a Class 5 felony.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

Sheriff Baron would like to express his sincere gratitude to everyone involved in this investigation for their attention to detail and their determination to safeguard the jail environment from illicit narcotics. Sheriff Baron states, “Our STU Team has ensured the safety of our jail operations. It is our expectation that all employees and contractors will behave with integrity. The arrest of Ms. Gosha is an example of how we will hold ourselves and our contractors accountable when they act outside the law and / or our expected values.”

A booking photo of Ms. Gosha is included with this release.
