PREVIOUS RELEASE – 10/12/22:
The Norfolk Sheriff’s Office wants the public’s help to name their newest K-9.
Last week, the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office acquired a 14-month-old male German Shorthaired Pointer, and we need help naming him. The new K-9 will be assigned to Deputy D. Klutts and the team will be trained in narcotics detection and tracking. Their training will begin in a few weeks and will take anywhere from 14-19 weeks.
Citizens are encouraged to visit the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/NorfolkVASheriff, and comment under the pinned post with their name suggestion. The comment period will close on Monday, October 17th. At that time, the top three names will be added to a survey where the community can vote on the final name. Stay tuned to the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office Facebook page for updates.
