Second Media Briefing at HRRJ Details

This is just a friendly reminder that the second weekly media briefing regarding the Hampton Roads Regional Jail will take place tomorrow (Friday 9/30) at 10 a.m. Parking is available in the main parking lot in front of the regional jail located at 2690 Elmhurst Lane in Portsmouth. Once you arrive, a representative will be at the front door to escort you to the conference room where the briefing will be held. Plan on arriving between 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the briefing to allow yourself plenty of time to set up.

This week, we will also be checking media credentials, as these briefings are designated for members of the media only. Please bring appropriate identification.

During this week’s briefing, Sheriff Bob McCabe, Interim Superintendent of the Hampton Roads Regional Jail, plans to provide anticipated updates to questions asked last week, provide new information on this week’s happenings, and take questions from the media.

Additionally, a tour of the jail will be offered immediately following this week’s briefing. During this tour, no cameras (both still and video), cell phones or recording devices will be allowed inside. To assist you with your stories, b-roll footage of various facilities inside of the jail will be provided on a DVD disk and stored in a Dropbox online. Still photos will also be available via a Dropbox. The link will be provided on Friday.

If you are not able to attend this week’s briefing, it will be recorded and uploaded to the newly-created Hampton Roads Regional Jail YouTube page for public viewing.

As stated last week, these briefings are designed to keep you up-to-date on the status of the operations inside the Hampton Roads Regional Jail and to provide best possible answers to any of your questions.
